Global Scouting for Automotive Gems

At DRIWEN, the journey of each keychain begins with a meticulous search for the most captivating cars. Our team spends countless hours scouring the globe, from the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene roads of California, to curate a selection of vehicles that aren't just cars but pieces of history. This rigorous selection process ensures that only the most exceptional cars are chosen for the DRIWEN project.

The Art of Preparation

Upon their selection, each car undergoes a thorough cleaning process, followed by a detailed photography session. This step is vital in preserving the essence of each car before it undergoes its transformation into a unique keychain. These photographs capture every angle, highlighting the beauty and character of these vintage treasures.

Precision Crafting in Munich

The journey continues in Munich, where Mischa, our skilled jewelry designer, meticulously measures and prepares each vintage car for the transformation. The drilling through the bonnet, a process that seems straightforward, is executed with a hand-held drill, requiring precision and expertise to ensure perfection.

The Elegance of Silver Craftsmanship

The next phase involves crafting 925 Stainless Silver wire into delicate rings, which are then attached to the car's bonnet. These rings undergo a laser sealing process, with approximately 140 laser shots per ring, assuring the unique elegance and strength of each piece. This stage is pivotal in bringing a touch of luxury to every DRIWEN keychain.

Personalized Embossing

Each 925 Stainless Silver keyholding ring receives a personalized DRIWEN embossing. This meticulous process, done by hand, involves stamping each character into the precious metal using a stencil. The journey of refinement doesn't end there – following the embossing, the silver takes a rejuvenating dip in an ultrasonic cleaner. The final touch is a two-stage polishing process: initially by machine to ensure uniformity, and then by hand – ensuring a flawless finish.

The Final Touch in St. Moritz

The journey culminates back in St. Moritz, where each car is given another photoshoot, capturing its transformed elegance. Finally, each keychain is carefully packed in a silver bag and placed in individual matchbox-style packaging, ready to be delivered to our discerning customers. This packaging not only protects the keychain but also underscores the uniqueness and exclusivity of each DRIWEN creation.
